Within the framework of the PEPR B-BEST : « Biomasses, biotechnologies et technologies durables pour la chimie et les carburants », the GQD-BIOCAT projet will develop a sustainable platform for biomass valorization by integrating photocatalysis and biocatalysis in a single, modular reactor. The project targets the selective conversion of the biomass-derived platform molecule 5-HMF into high-value chemicals and polymers under mild, light-driven conditions. By combining hybrid catalytic materials with enzyme catalysis, GQD-BIOCAT aims to deliver an efficient, flexible, and scalable route toward greener chemical manufacturing.
