Séminaire Pr Guillaume Berionni

21 mai @ 14 h 00 - 15 h 00

Le 21 Mai 2024, Salle Jean Barriol,

Pr Guillaume Berionni, Professeur des Universités à l’Université de Namur, laboratoire RCO, donnera une conférence intitulée « Frustrated Pairs with Lewis Superacids: Small Molecules Activation, Hydrogenation and Borylation Reactions »

Bifunctional compounds based on main-group elements have attracted increasing interest in catalysis in recent years. Among them, frustrated Lewis pairs and element/ligand systems mimicking the behavior of transition-metal complexes are increasingly used for small molecules activation and inert bonds functionalization. Our group has recently devoted significant efforts towards the development of new classes of strongly pyramidalized boron Lewis superacids. Computational and experimental investigations of their associations with sterically hindered Lewis bases proved to be a powerful strategy to design new frustrated Lewis pairs mediating hydrogenation and CH borylation reactions.
